Senior Regional Games coming to Wellington
22 August 2019
Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate International Day of the Older Person on Tuesday 1st October?
You're in luck!
Join Upper Hutt City Council, Hutt City Council, Wellington City Council, Sport Wellington and other local partners at the inaugural SENIOR REGIONAL GAMES.
Suitable for the active; less active than I used to be; only active if I get to see my mates; and those keen to come and watch others be active -- this free event offers people the opportunity to participate in fun physical and social activities, meet new people, and learn more about what activities are regularly available in your community.
Get a group together and register to enter a team activity or come along and join in on the day.
From Badminton to Bowls, and card games to dancing, there will be something for everyone. This event is knocking down boundaries and challenging assumptions that the older you get, the less opportunities to stay active there are.
So bring your friends and whānau to celebrate together, participate in friendly competition, and try something new.
The day will start with an official opening at the Lower Hutt Events Centre, followed by a range of activities around and within the Dowse and Events Centre, and will conclude with prizes and celebrations to close.
Stay tuned for more information as we finalise what activities, entertainment, and special guests will be a part of the day. To never miss an update, make sure you’re following our Community Strength and Balance Facebook page.
