What is quality Physical Education?

Celia Fleck joined us from Sport NZ in our latest webinar to discuss what exactly goes into delivering quality Physical Education for Tamariki. During the webinar, she answered the following two questions: 

  • What might inform our teaching practice when it comes to planning for and delivering quality learning experiences in Physical Education?
  • What are some guiding principles to help ensure all learners can access and experience success in physical education?

Celia is a member of the Healthy Active Learning team at Sport NZ; her role is to support the professional learning and development of the Healthy Active Learning workforce. She is a Ministry of Education accredited PLD facilitator; her previous role in the Play.sport initiative was to support Health and Physical Education curriculum planning and delivery in primary schools, and Integrated Curriculum design in secondary schools. She taught for 19 years in secondary school Health and Physical Education, and is a past President/Chair of Physical Education New Zealand - Te Ao Kori Aotearoa (PENZ).
