Emma Paisley

Role - Hurricanes Poua & Wellington Pride - Team Manager for both teams

Wāhine or kōhine role model

My mother. She inspires the way I work and is a core role model in my life.

She has always shown love through her actions and goes out of her way to meaningfully help and support my family and others around her.

SUPER WOMAN power

I am proud of the way I care for people. Forming genuine connections and hearing about other people's passions and how I can possibly help gives me an authentic sense of achievement and fulfilment.

I am passionate about being a team manager, but even more devoted to creating a positive and efficient team environment through quality care towards players and my fellow management team members.

I do this by forming and maintaining strong relationships, effectively communicating early, openly, and honestly, and productively organising campaign logistics to ensure everyone else can focus on rugby with no outside noise.

Main motivations to be active
I love taking the time to be active with friends, which in turn helps fill my cup as I can connect with others and express how I am feeling, receiving support and advice from my peers.

Advice to inspire wāhine in Sport and Active Recreation

With momentum growing off the back of recent success in women's sports, it is an exciting time to get involved. Whether it is participating as a player, manager, coach, or administrator, do not hesitate to connect with a local club and community, as it is extremely worthwhile. The camaraderie is incredible, and you will make connections for life.

For me, I played numerous sports growing up, after which time I earned my bachelor’s degree in sports and event management. I always knew that one day I wanted to go from playing to working in sports, so I began preparing for the transition.
